GE Venue 50 Point-of-Care Ultrasound — Model Service

Tablet console, docking station and cart: checks, maintenance, fault-finding and return to service on software R4.x

A model course for engineers who have passed Ultrasound Service — Level 1, and ideally Level 2. It takes the Venue 50 apart on paper: the tablet console with its front-end and master boards, the docking station and cart with their power path, ports and three-probe box, the power module and batteries. You learn the checks and what each proves, the electrical safety tests with the manufacturer's limits, care and battery maintenance, fault-finding by splitting console from dock and probe from port, and a return to service with data, settings, software and options handled the manufacturer's way. Independent course: not affiliated with or endorsed by GE HealthCare. GE, Venue and LOGIQ are trademarks of their owner; other names are trademarks of their respective owners.

01

A tablet with one port, no keyboard and a cart that matters as much as the console.

  • The Venue 50 looks simple, so engineers meet it with a cart-system habit and a basic manual whose troubleshooting trees are drawings and whose replacement chapter covers only cart shelves.
  • Typical calls end with a console sent away while the real cause was a dock without mains, a probe box position, an inactive option, a software card left in the slot, a flat CMOS cell or an earth problem in the room.
  • After a reload or board change, presets are lost, options show disabled, the touch screen is not calibrated and no leakage is measured, and the scanner returns to the emergency room on trust.
02

After the course you can

01Identify the console variant, docking configuration, probes and options, and name the replaceable assemblies of the console, dock and cart and the role of each.
02Run start-up, configuration, mode, measurement, phantom, probe, electrical safety and DICOM checks in the right order and say what each proves.
03Plan maintenance to the care schedule and the site's QA programme: cooling, cleaning and disinfectant compatibility, probes, batteries and power module, cart mechanics, backups and records.
04Locate faults in boot, software, image, front end, probe recognition, touch, display, power, peripherals and network by splitting console from dock and probe from port.
05Prepare for repair with data, identity and energy controlled, replace assemblies at procedure level, have software and options handled the manufacturer's way, and release the system only after full verification.

Curriculum

01The Venue 50 platform: tablet console, docking station and cart, boards, power and start-up
Identify the Venue 50 configuration in front of you, name its replaceable assemblies from the TR32 front end to the docking power path, and read the start-up as a first diagnostic before you open anything.

02Checks: start-up, modes and measurements, phantom, probes, electrical safety and the network
Run the Venue 50 checks in a fixed order, from start-up and configuration through modes, measurement accuracy, phantom and probes to electrical safety and DICOM, and say what each check proves and what it does not.
24 min
03Planned maintenance: cooling, cleaning and disinfection, probes, batteries, cart and dock, backups and records
Plan and perform a Venue 50 maintenance visit that matches the manufacturer's care schedule and the site's QA programme, keeps cooling, batteries, probes and the cart in condition, and leaves a backup and a record that the next engineer can use.
22 min
04Troubleshooting: boot and software, artefacts and the front end, probe recognition, touch and display, power, peripherals, network and logs
Take a Venue 50 complaint to a single replaceable assembly, a setting or an external cause, using the console-versus-dock split, the probe and port swaps, interference checks and the logs, without replacing parts on suspicion.
25 min
05Repair and return to service: preparation, assembly replacement, software reload, settings restore, verification and records
Prepare a Venue 50 for repair with its data, identity and settings secured and its energy controlled, replace assemblies at procedure level, have software and options handled the manufacturer's way, and release the system only after full functional and safety verification with a complete record.

The certificate

Pass the exam and get a certificate of course completion with your name, hours and score. Every certificate has a unique number and a public verification page, so an employer or a customer can check it in one click. It confirms completion of the course; it is not an educational document (diploma) and not a manufacturer authorisation.

FAQ

Is this GE training?

No. It is an independent course, not affiliated with or endorsed by GE HealthCare. GE, Venue and LOGIQ are trademarks of their owner, and other names are trademarks of their respective owners. The course does not replace the manufacturer's procedures and does not grant authorisation, passwords, option keys or access to service software.

Do I need the service manual?

You should have the manufacturer's service and user documentation for the system you work on. The course explains and orders the work; the exact procedures, acceptance values, part numbers and disinfectant lists come from the documentation for your hardware and software revision.

Does it cover other Venue models or the LOGIQ portables?

The course is written for the Venue 50 on software R4.x with its docking station and cart. Later Venue models and the LOGIQ e share some ideas but differ in hardware, software and procedures; they are covered, where available, by their own courses and documentation.

Does it cover software reloads and options?

Only at procedure level: who may do it, what to back up and what to check before and after. The steps themselves are the manufacturer's and are done by authorised personnel with the proper media and keys.

What does the certificate say?

GE Venue 50 Point-of-Care Ultrasound — Model Service (Endorsement), with your name, the hours, the date and your exam score, a unique number and a public verification page.

Can my company buy seats for a team?

Yes: five seats and a progress overview for the manager.
