Konica Minolta DRYPRO SIGMA Laser Imager — Model Service

Film path, calibration, preventive maintenance and fault-finding on the desktop dry laser imager

A model course for engineers who have passed Medical Imagers and Film Printers — Level 1. It takes the DRYPRO SIGMA apart on paper: the cartridge, rollback and vacuum pick-up, the laser imaging assembly, the heated drum processor, the densitometer and the two boards that run it all; start-up, automatic calibration and the test prints that prove each half of the machine; the film-count maintenance with drum, processor and filter work; fault-finding from the condition code and the logs to one part; and repair and release with configuration, software and safety handled correctly. Independent course: not affiliated with or endorsed by Konica Minolta. Konica Minolta and DRYPRO are trademarks of their owner; other names are trademarks of their respective owners.

You know how a dry imager prints. This course is about where this one jams, drifts and stops.

  • The DRYPRO SIGMA sits on a desk in small radiology departments and clinics, and engineers meet it with general printer experience and a manual organised by procedure and by long code tables rather than by the fault in front of them.
  • Typical calls end with sensors or an optics unit ordered while the real cause was expired or fogged film, a drum a few degrees off, residue on the cooling plate, a binding drum motor, a wrong AE title at the modality or a cover left open during a restart.
  • After maintenance or repair the drum temperature is not measured, a cartridge in manual mode is left printing, no before-and-after films exist and no configuration backup was made, so the next fault starts from nothing.
02

After the course you can

01Name the assemblies of the DRYPRO SIGMA in film order, the sensors and interlocks that watch them and the board that controls each, and know where configuration, logs and software live.
02Verify an imager from start-up to clinical print: read the panel and portal states, judge calibration results and manual mode, use the flat-field and SMPTE test prints and confirm every DICOM sender.
03Perform the film-count preventive maintenance in the manufacturer's order, safely around heat, solvent and the imaging roller, and record counters, drum temperature and comparison films.
04Locate faults from the condition code subsystem and severity, the error history and logs: pick-up, rollback and tag faults, jams by area, density and artefacts, heater, optics, network and panel faults.
05Prepare and carry out repairs at procedure level with backup, ESD, heat and laser precautions, handle software and configuration through the authorised route, adjust drum temperature and image position, and release only on evidence.

The certificate

Pass the exam and get a certificate of course completion with your name, hours and score. Every certificate has a unique number and a public verification page, so an employer or a customer can check it in one click. It confirms completion of the course; it is not an educational document (diploma) and not a manufacturer authorisation.

FAQ

Is this Konica Minolta training?

No. It is an independent course, not affiliated with or endorsed by Konica Minolta. Konica Minolta and DRYPRO are trademarks of their owner, and other names are trademarks of their respective owners. The course does not replace the manufacturer's procedures and does not grant authorisation, passwords, keys or access to the service tool.

Do I need the service manual?

You should have the manufacturer's service and operator documentation for the imager you work on. The course explains and orders the work; the exact procedures, acceptance values, screws and part numbers come from the documentation for your revision and software version.

Does it cover other DRYPRO models and other dry imagers?

The course is written for the DRYPRO SIGMA. Much of the method transfers to other DRYPRO models and to other dry laser imagers, but their film paths, codes and limits differ; use their own documentation. Field cases from other dry imagers are named as such.

Does it cover software reloads, licence keys and film options?

Only at procedure level: who may do it, what to back up and what to check before and after. The steps, media, keys and access levels are the manufacturer's and are used by authorised personnel. The course does not cover ways around the film tag check.

What does the certificate say?

Konica Minolta DRYPRO SIGMA Laser Imager — Model Service (Endorsement), with your name, the hours, the date and your exam score, a unique number and a public verification page.

Can my company buy seats for a team?
