Mindray WATO EX Series — Model Service

Checkout, maintenance, calibration and fault-finding on the EX-20/25/30/35

Part of the program: Anaesthesia Machine Service Engineer — full program (23 h) →

A model course for engineers who have passed Anaesthesia Workstation Service — Level 1. It takes the WATO EX-20/25/30/35 apart on paper: its gas path and boards, the checkout as this machine needs it, the one- and three-year kits, the system test and the order of calibrations, technical alarms, section-by-section leak finding, the valves-test tool, electrical faults and a full return to service. Independent course: not affiliated with or endorsed by Mindray. Mindray and WATO are trademarks of their owner.

01

You know how a workstation works. This course is about how this one fails.

  • The WATO EX is a common machine in hospitals that run without a manufacturer contract, and engineers meet it with a generic anaesthesia background and a service manual in a language and order that does not follow the fault in front of them.
  • Typical calls end in replaced circuits, bellows and sensors while the real cause sits under a check valve, in a sampling line, in a calibration skipped after a board change, or in the air supply that drives the ventilator.
  • Calibrations are run without their preconditions, a successful calibration message is taken as proof, and the machine goes back to theatre without an independent check.
02

After the course you can

01Identify the model and configuration, name the main assemblies and boards, and follow the gas path of this machine from inlet to scavenging.
02Run the WATO EX checkout in order and explain what each test proves and what each failure points to, with the limits the manufacturer gives.
03Fit the one- and three-year kits for the right model, run the system test and choose and perform calibrations in a sound order with their preconditions met.
04Read technical alarms as pointers to assemblies and find supply, fresh gas and breathing system leaks section by section.
05Use the valves-test tool to separate sensor, sampling line, valve and board faults when tidal volume is wrong.
06Diagnose common power and board faults, prepare for disassembly safely, handle software at procedure level and verify the machine fully before clinical use.

Curriculum

01The WATO EX platform: models, assemblies and the gas path of this machine
Identify which WATO EX model and configuration is in front of you, name its main pneumatic assemblies and boards, and follow its gas from the wall to the scavenging outlet, knowing where this machine differs from the generic workstation of anes-l1.

22 min
02Checkout and tests the way this machine needs them
Run the WATO EX service checkout in the right order, know what each test proves on this machine and what a failure points to, and record the measured values that make the result defensible.
25 min
03Preventive maintenance and calibration: kits, system test and the order of calibrations
Carry out the WATO EX one-year and three-year maintenance, run the system test, decide which calibrations are needed and do them in a sound order with their preconditions met, adjust the APL valve and record what proves the work.
25 min
04Technical alarms and pneumatic fault-finding
Read a WATO EX technical alarm as a pointer to an assembly, locate supply, fresh gas and patient circuit leaks section by section with the manufacturer's test methods, and use the valves-test tool to tell a sensor fault from a valve, sampling line or board fault when tidal volume is wrong.
25 min
05Hardware and electrical faults, disassembly and return to service
Diagnose the common power, board and display faults of the WATO EX, prepare the machine safely for disassembly, know which tests and calibrations each replacement brings with it, treat software work at procedure level, and verify the machine fully before it goes back to clinical use.

The certificate

Pass the exam and get a certificate of course completion with your name, hours and score. Every certificate has a unique number and a public verification page, so an employer or a customer can check it in one click. It confirms completion of the course; it is not an educational document (diploma) and not a manufacturer authorisation.

FAQ

Is this Mindray training?

No. It is an independent course, not affiliated with or endorsed by Mindray. Mindray and WATO are trademarks of their owner. The course does not replace the manufacturer's procedures and does not grant authorisation, passwords or access to service software.

Do I need the service manual?

You should have the manufacturer's service and operator documentation for the machine you work on. The course explains and orders the work; the exact procedures, limits and part numbers come from the documentation for your revision.

Does it cover software upgrades and function activation?

Only at procedure level: who may do it, what to check before and after. The steps themselves are the manufacturer's and are done by authorised personnel with the proper tools.

What does the certificate say?

Mindray WATO EX Series — Model Service (Endorsement), with your name, the hours, the date and your exam score, a unique number and a public verification page.

Can my company buy seats for a team?

Yes: five seats and a progress overview for the manager.
