Neusoft NeuViz 16 and NeuViz 128 CT — Model Service
Gantry boards, calibrations, maintenance, fault-finding and return to service on the NeuViz 16 and NeuViz 128
A model course for engineers who have passed CT Service — Level 1 and ideally Level 2. It takes the NeuViz 16 and NeuViz 128 apart on paper: the stator and rotor control boards, the CAN network of units and its UCOM interfaces, the HV generator variants, the A-plane collimator and compensator, the DMS detector and its data path across the slip ring, the couch and the console. It then covers the calibration matrices and what each calibration proves, planned maintenance, fault-finding by process stage from initialisation to image quality using the gantry display codes, board LEDs and the error log viewer, and a full return to service after repair. Independent course: not affiliated with or endorsed by Neusoft Medical Systems or Philips. Neusoft, NeuViz, Philips and other names are trademarks of their respective owners.
You know how a CT scanner works. This course is about how the NeuViz tells you what is wrong.
- NeuViz scanners are installed widely, and engineers meet them with a background from other makes and a set of documents organised by board and by procedure rather than by the fault in front of them.
- Typical calls end with a board or a tube replaced while the cause was a CAN cable, a door or cover switch, a fibre between the RCOM and the slip ring, stiff grease in the collimator, an unseasoned tube after a long stop or a full image disk.
- After a repair the calibrations required by the reasons matrix are skipped or run in the wrong order, the wrong phantom is used, and the scanner goes back to patients without a phantom check, a dose check or an electrical safety test.

22 min02Calibrations and checks: the reasons matrices, tube preparation, detector calibrations, phantoms and dose
Select the calibrations a NeuViz needs after a given event, run them in the order and with the phantoms the manufacturer requires, and confirm the result with phantom and dose checks.24 min03Maintenance: PM plan, cooling and environment, slip ring, belts and collimator, couch, disks, backups and records
Plan and carry out planned maintenance on a NeuViz 16 or NeuViz 128 so that each visit checks the parts that actually wear, leaves a backup, and produces records that show trends.22 min04Troubleshooting: process stages, display and log codes, prepare errors, HV, data path, artefacts and couch
Take a NeuViz fault from the complaint to a replaceable board, cable or adjustment by locating the process stage where it fails and reading the stator display, board LEDs, servo codes and the error log viewer.25 min05Repair and return to service: HV, radiation and stored-energy safety, assembly replacement, calibrations, verification and records
Replace a NeuViz assembly safely at procedure level, run the calibrations the reasons matrices require, and release the scanner only after image quality, dose, function and electrical safety checks are documented.23 min—Exam

The certificate
Pass the exam and get a certificate of course completion with your name, hours and score. Every certificate has a unique number and a public verification page, so an employer or a customer can check it in one click. It confirms completion of the course; it is not an educational document (diploma) and not a manufacturer authorisation.

Who teaches
Written by a service engineer working with medical equipment since 2014, including 6.5 years at GE Healthcare and service supervision at Mindray, together with the engineers of Service Engineer.
FAQ
Is this Neusoft training?
No. It is an independent course, not affiliated with or endorsed by Neusoft Medical Systems or Philips. Neusoft, NeuViz, Philips and other names are trademarks of their respective owners. The course does not replace the manufacturer's procedures and does not grant authorisation, passwords, service cards or access to service software.
Do I need the service documentation?
Yes. You should have the manufacturer's service, calibration and safety documentation for the scanner and software version you work on. The course explains and orders the work; the exact procedures, acceptance values, settings and part numbers come from that documentation.
Why the NeuViz 16 and the NeuViz 128 together?
They are the two NeuViz members for which we worked from service documents: a troubleshooting manual for the NeuViz 16 and a calibration manual for the NeuViz 128. Much of the method is shared, but boards, generators, calibrations and limits differ. The course says which model each statement comes from; on other NeuViz models use their own documentation.
Does it cover software reloads, licences and options?
Only at procedure level: who may do it, what to back up and what to check before and after. The steps themselves are the manufacturer's and are done by authorised personnel with the proper keys and media.
What does the certificate say?
Neusoft NeuViz 16 and NeuViz 128 CT — Model Service (Endorsement), with your name, the hours, the date and your exam score, a unique number and a public verification page.
Can my company buy seats for a team?
