Nipro Surdial Hemodialysis Machine — Model Service
Viscous chamber hydraulics, verification, maintenance and fault-finding on the Surdial Type I and Type II
A model course for engineers who have passed Dialysis Equipment Service — Level 1. It takes the Nipro Surdial apart on paper: the hydraulic circuit by component symbol, the viscous chambers and bellowphragm pumps, the blood-side modules, the power box and the ten maintenance modes; the checks with independent instruments and the values the manufacturer gives; disinfection, wear parts and counters; fault-finding from error number to component; and a full return to service with settings, software, calibration and electrical safety handled correctly. Independent course: not affiliated with or endorsed by Nipro. Nipro and Surdial are trademarks of their owner; other names are trademarks of their respective owners.
You know how a dialysis machine balances. This course is about how this one does it, and where it goes wrong.
- The Surdial exists in several types, power box layouts and ROM generations, and the wrong pump, board or software for the serial number is a common and expensive mistake.
- Conductivity and UF problems are often blamed on boards when the cause is concentrate, air in a pick-up, a wrong chamber volume or silicone oil, or a value lost after a ROM change.
- After repair, settings unique to the machine are not restored, alarms are left forced off in a maintenance mode, dialysate is not checked with an independent meter and the machine goes back on trust.
After the course you can
Curriculum
Identify the Surdial type, revision and mains rating, follow the fluid path from the RO water inlet to the drain by component symbol, name the blood-side modules and the boards that drive them, and know which maintenance mode shows what.free
25 min02Checks: the machine's own tests, conductivity and temperature against an independent meter, UF, pressures, air detector, clamp and blood leak
Run the Surdial verification set in a sensible order with independent instruments, know which reading proves which protective function, and judge results against the values the manufacturer gives.25 min03Maintenance: disinfection and descaling, filters and seals, pumps and counters, water interface and records
Plan and carry out preventive maintenance on a Surdial using its disinfection programmes, operating counters and wear parts, keep the water interface under control and leave a record the next engineer can trust.22 min04Troubleshooting: conductivity, temperature, pressure and UF, water supply, air, blood leak and the blood side
Take a Surdial alarm or complaint from the error number and the maintenance mode data to the faulty component or setting, in a cheap-and-likely-first order, without disabling a protective function.25 min05Repair and return to service: preparation, replacement, settings and software, calibration, disinfection, full test, electrical safety and the record
Prepare a Surdial safely for repair, replace hydraulic parts, the viscous chamber system and boards at procedure level, restore settings and calibrations per the manufacturer, and release the machine only after disinfection, a full functional test and electrical safety testing.25 min—Exam

The certificate
Pass the exam and get a certificate of course completion with your name, hours and score. Every certificate has a unique number and a public verification page, so an employer or a customer can check it in one click. It confirms completion of the course; it is not an educational document (diploma) and not a manufacturer authorisation.
Who it is for
Who it is for

- Hospital biomedical teams and independent service companies maintaining Nipro Surdial machines
Who teaches
Written by a service engineer working with medical equipment since 2014, including 6.5 years at GE Healthcare and service supervision at Mindray, together with the engineers of Service Engineer.
FAQ
Is this Nipro training?
No. It is an independent course, not affiliated with or endorsed by Nipro. Nipro and Surdial are trademarks of their owner, and other names are trademarks of their respective owners. The course does not replace the manufacturer's procedures and does not grant authorisation, passwords or access to service functions.
Do I need the service manual?
You should have the manufacturer's service and operator documentation for the machine you work on. The course explains and orders the work; the exact procedures, acceptance values, settings and part numbers come from the documentation for your type and ROM version.
Does it cover the Surdial X?
No. The Surdial X is a different machine with a different UF system and its own documentation and safety notices. This course covers the Surdial Type I and Type II.
Does it cover software and options?
Only at procedure level: who may do it, what to record and what to check before and after. ROM changes and option settings follow the manufacturer's procedure and are done by authorised personnel.
What does the certificate say?
Nipro Surdial Hemodialysis Machine — Model Service (Endorsement), with your name, the hours, the date and your exam score, a unique number and a public verification page.
Can my company buy seats for a team?
