Siemens Clinitek Advantus and Status+ Urine Chemistry Analysers — Model Service

Strip transport, optics and reference checks, maintenance and fault-finding on the Clinitek Advantus and Clinitek Status/Status+

A model course for engineers who have passed Lab Analyser Service — Level 1. It takes two urine strip readers apart on paper: the semi-automated Clinitek Advantus with its push bar, moving table, two scanning readheads and calibration chip, and the single-strip Clinitek Status and Status+ with their LED and CCD optics and white calibration bar on the test table. You learn what each start-up, reference, diagnostic, check-cassette and hard-standard check proves, how to care for platforms and test tables without damaging the reference, how to go from an error code to the right part or user correction, and how to return an instrument to service with configuration, release checks and laboratory controls handled properly. Independent course: not affiliated with or endorsed by Siemens Healthineers. Siemens Healthineers, Clinitek, Clinitek Advantus, Clinitek Status, Multistix and Chek-Stix are trademarks of their owners; other names are trademarks of their respective owners.

A strip reader has no pumps to blame. When it is wrong, it is the reference, the strip path or the strip.

  • Clinitek readers are everywhere from central laboratories to ward side rooms, and engineers meet them with a chemistry-analyser background that does not fit a machine with no fluidics and no user calibration.
  • Typical calls end with lamps, A/D boards or whole Status units replaced while the real cause was a platform not pushed home, a scratched or disinfected white reference, humid strips, a wrong strip setting or a host port left in a test mode.
  • After a board change the Advantus comes back with factory settings, strip centering is not rerun, the release checks are skipped and the laboratory resumes reporting without running controls.
02

After the course you can

01Explain how the Advantus and the Status turn pad colour into a result, and name the boards, sensors and assemblies on that path and which are field-replaceable.
02Run and interpret start-up checks, reference errors, Status diagnostics, the check cassette, hard standards and laboratory controls, and tell an instrument fault from a strip or method fault.
03Carry out and audit daily and periodic care of platforms, test tables, calibration surfaces and printers safely, using only approved agents and lubricant.
04Take Advantus general, customer and data-set errors and Status E and ECC codes to the right cause, from transport and optics to printers and host communication.
05Prepare for repair with decontamination and data protection, replace assemblies at procedure level, make the required adjustments and release the instrument only after release checks and passed controls.

The certificate

Pass the exam and get a certificate of course completion with your name, hours and score. Every certificate has a unique number and a public verification page, so an employer or a customer can check it in one click. It confirms completion of the course; it is not an educational document (diploma) and not a manufacturer authorisation.

FAQ

Is this Siemens Healthineers training?

No. It is an independent course, not affiliated with or endorsed by Siemens Healthineers. Siemens Healthineers, Clinitek, Clinitek Advantus, Clinitek Status, Multistix and Chek-Stix are trademarks of their owners, and other names are trademarks of their respective owners. The course does not replace the manufacturer's procedures and does not grant authorisation, passwords or access to service software.

Do I need the service manual?

You should have the manufacturer's service and operator documentation for the instrument you work on. The course explains and orders the work; exact procedures, acceptance windows, torques, fixtures and part numbers come from the documentation for your revision.

Does it cover the Status+ as well as the original Status?

Yes, at the level of the shared reading principle, maintenance, diagnostics and fault-finding. The service manual we worked from describes the original Status; where the Status+ adds features such as strip auto-checks and connectivity, the course says so and asks you to check its current documentation.

Does it cover software updates and service test modes?

Only at procedure level: who may do it, what to back up and what to check before and after. Access methods, passwords and release software belong to the manufacturer and its authorised personnel.

What does the certificate say?

Siemens Clinitek Advantus and Status+ Urine Chemistry Analysers — Model Service (Endorsement), with your name, the hours, the date and your exam score, a unique number and a public verification page.

Can my company buy seats for a team?

Yes: five seats and a progress overview for the manager.
