Sysmex XP-300 Haematology Analyser — Model Service

Hydraulics, pneumatics, checks, maintenance, fault-finding and return to service on the three-part-differential XP-300

A model course for engineers who have passed Lab Analyser Service — Level 1 and ideally Level 2. It takes the XP-300 apart on paper: the sample rotor valve and the dilution paths, the compressor, regulator and the working pressure and vacuum, the impedance detectors and the HGB cell, the boards and what each one does; the start-up, background and status checks and what each proves; QC and calibration read with the analyser's architecture in mind; the manufacturer's maintenance schedule and the engineer's checks it leaves out; fault-finding from error code and sub code to one assembly; and repair with the adjustments in the right order and a documented return to service. Independent course: not affiliated with or endorsed by Sysmex. Sysmex, XP-300, KX-21, CELLPACK, STROMATOLYSER, CELLCLEAN, EIGHTCHECK, CELLCHECK and SNCS are trademarks of their owner; other names are trademarks of their respective owners.

You know how a cell counter works. This course is about how this one goes wrong.

  • The XP-300 is common in small laboratories and clinics, and engineers meet it with a general analyser background and a service manual organised by chapter, not by the fault in front of them.
  • Typical calls end with a compressor rebuilt or a board replaced while the real cause was a dirty regulator needle valve, a cracked pinch tube, a clot in the pipette, a reagent at the wrong temperature or a setting that changed.
  • After repair, the SRV position, the HGB, clog and sensitivity adjustments and the settings restore are skipped, calibration is used to hide a fault, and the analyser goes back to patient testing without a clean background and QC.
02

After the course you can

01Trace a sample through the SRV, dilution paths and detectors, and name the assembly, board, pressure or vacuum level and reagent behind each step.
02Run and interpret start-up, background and status checks, read QC by analyser branch, and handle calibration, reagent and lot changes correctly.
03Plan and carry out maintenance to the manufacturer's schedule plus the engineer's wear checks, with CELLCLEAN and biohazards handled safely and records that show trends.
04Locate faults using error codes and sub codes, the four gauges, the status display, histograms and single-component tests: pneumatics, chambers, aspiration, clogs, background, HGB, motor, sensors, memory and host link.
05Prepare for repair with decontamination, isolation and data backup, replace assemblies at procedure level, perform follow-up adjustments in order and release only after background, QC and documentation.

Curriculum

01The platform: hydraulics, detectors, reagents, electronics, printer and LIS
Trace one XP-300 sample from the pipette to the printout, name the assembly and board that does each step, and know which pressure, vacuum and reagent each step depends on.

02Checks and quality control: start-up, background, QC, calibration and reagent changes
Run and read the XP-300 start-up, background and status checks, interpret QC and calibration results for what they actually prove, and handle reagent and lot changes without corrupting the analyser's record.
22 min
03Maintenance: daily, periodic and engineer's visit, cleaning agents, tubing, apertures and records
Plan and perform XP-300 maintenance to the manufacturer's schedule, add the engineer's checks that the schedule does not list, use CELLCLEAN safely and keep records that make the next fault easy to find.
22 min
04Troubleshooting: error groups, pneumatics, aspiration and clogs, background and HGB, counts and histograms, motors and sensors
Take an XP-300 fault from the error message and its sub codes to one assembly, using the gauges, the status display, the histograms and the analyser's own test functions in a sensible order.
25 min
05Repair and return to service: preparation, part replacement, adjustments, calibration and records
Prepare an XP-300 for repair safely, replace assemblies at procedure level, carry out the follow-up adjustments in the right order, and hand the analyser back with QC passed and a record that proves it.

The certificate

Pass the exam and get a certificate of course completion with your name, hours and score. Every certificate has a unique number and a public verification page, so an employer or a customer can check it in one click. It confirms completion of the course; it is not an educational document (diploma) and not a manufacturer authorisation.

FAQ

Is this Sysmex training?

No. It is an independent course, not affiliated with or endorsed by Sysmex. Sysmex, XP-300, KX-21, CELLPACK, STROMATOLYSER, CELLCLEAN, EIGHTCHECK, CELLCHECK and SNCS are trademarks of their owner, and other names are trademarks of their respective owners. The course does not replace the manufacturer's procedures and does not grant authorisation, passwords or access to service software.

Do I need the service manual?

You should have the manufacturer's service manual and the instructions for use for the analyser you work on. The course explains and orders the work; the exact procedures, adjustment targets, limits and part numbers come from the documentation for your revision and region.

Does it cover the XP-100, KX-21 or other Sysmex analysers?

The course is written for the XP-300. The XP-100 and the older KX-21 and KX-21N share much of the hydraulics, and the method transfers, but details differ. Larger Sysmex lines such as XS and XN use different technology and are only mentioned in general terms.

Does it cover software updates and service access?

Only at procedure level: who may do it, what to back up and what to check before and after. Service access, software media and the steps themselves are the manufacturer's and are used by authorised personnel.

What does the certificate say?

Sysmex XP-300 Haematology Analyser — Model Service (Endorsement), with your name, the hours, the date and your exam score, a unique number and a public verification page.

Can my company buy seats for a team?

Yes: five seats and a progress overview for the manager.
