Infant Flow SiPAP Neonatal CPAP System — Model Service

Checks, maintenance, fault-finding and return to service on the Infant Flow SiPAP driver, Plus and Comprehensive

A model course for engineers who have passed Ventilator Service — Level 1, and ideally Level 2. It takes the Infant Flow SiPAP driver apart on paper: the gas module with its blender, flowmeters, vent, dump and pop-off valves, the valve/sensor and main processor boards, the patient trigger and abdominal sensor, power and battery; the power-up check, the diagnostics screen and calibrations; performance and alarm checks with reference instruments and the internal oxygen leak test; the annual, two-year and five-year maintenance items; fault-finding from whistle, alarm or error code to the replaceable assembly; and a full return to service with calibration, firmware and electrical safety handled correctly. Independent course: not affiliated with or endorsed by Vyaire Medical, CareFusion, VIASYS Healthcare or any later owner of the product line. Infant Flow and SiPAP are trademarks of their owner; other names are trademarks of their respective owners.

It looks like a box with two flowmeters. The infant at the other end needs every centimetre of water and every percent of oxygen to be right.

  • Infant Flow SiPAP drivers run for many years in neonatal units, often serviced by engineers who know adult ventilators but have never had the case of this driver open.
  • Calls end with a blender or a board replaced while the real cause was a full water trap, a weak wall supply, a wet pressure line, a high flowmeter left open, an exhausted fuel cell or a knob refitted off its 21 percent mark.
  • After repair the oxygen and pressure are not recalibrated, the internal oxygen leak test is skipped and alarms are assumed rather than provoked, and the driver goes back to a premature infant on trust.
02

After the course you can

01Identify configuration, modules, boards and parts of the SiPAP driver and follow the gas from the inlets to the generator.
02Run the power-up check, read the diagnostics screen, calibrate oxygen and pressure, verify flow, pressure and oxygen with reference instruments, provoke every alarm and run the oxygen leak test.
03Carry out the annual, two-year and five-year maintenance with oxygen-safe practice and keep records that show trends.
04Locate faults from whistles, clinical alarms, error code groups and the diagnostics values to the external cause or the replaceable assembly.
05Replace assemblies at procedure level, recalibrate per the manufacturer, handle firmware correctly, test electrical safety and release the driver with a complete record.

Curriculum

01The SiPAP platform: driver, generator, gas module, monitoring, electronics and power
Name every module of the Infant Flow SiPAP driver, follow the gas from the wall outlets to the generator at the infant's nose, and know which configuration, board and part numbers apply to the unit in front of you.

02Checks: power-up test, diagnostics screen, calibrations, performance, alarms and the oxygen leak test
Verify an Infant Flow SiPAP driver from power-up to release: read the power-up and diagnostics screens, calibrate oxygen and pressure as the manufacturer prescribes, measure flow, pressure and oxygen with reference instruments, prove every alarm and run the internal oxygen leak test.
25 min
03Maintenance: the annual, two-year and five-year items, filters, fuel cell, battery, cleaning and records
Plan and carry out preventive maintenance on an Infant Flow SiPAP driver to the manufacturer's schedule, replace the annual items correctly, keep oxygen-safe practice inside the case and leave a record that shows trends.
20 min
04Troubleshooting: error codes, whistles, gas and blender faults, pressure, oxygen, power and display
Take an Infant Flow SiPAP complaint from the first symptom to the replaceable part or the external cause, using the alarm type, the error log, the diagnostics screen and simple pneumatic measurements.
25 min
05Repair and return to service: module replacement, calibration, firmware, verification, electrical safety and the record
Replace SiPAP driver modules safely at procedure level, recalibrate only as the manufacturer prescribes, handle firmware correctly, verify the whole unit including electrical safety and release it with a record that stands up to audit.

The certificate

Pass the exam and get a certificate of course completion with your name, hours and score. Every certificate has a unique number and a public verification page, so an employer or a customer can check it in one click. It confirms completion of the course; it is not an educational document (diploma) and not a manufacturer authorisation.

FAQ

Is this manufacturer training?

No. It is an independent course, not affiliated with or endorsed by Vyaire Medical, CareFusion, VIASYS Healthcare or any later owner of the Infant Flow product line. Infant Flow and SiPAP are trademarks of their owner, and other names are trademarks of their respective owners. The course does not replace the manufacturer's procedures and does not grant authorisation, passwords, codes or access to service software.

Which units and documents does it cover?

The Infant Flow SiPAP driver (model M675, Mk3 parts) in its Plus and Comprehensive configurations, as described in service manual 675-120 Revision D. Units built later under the CareFusion or Vyaire names may differ in parts and screens; always use the documentation for your unit.

Do I need the service manual?

Yes. The course explains and orders the work; exact procedures, acceptance values, part numbers and calibration points come from the manufacturer's documentation for your revision.

Does it cover firmware and feature upgrades?

Only at procedure level: who may do it, what to record before and what to check after. The steps, tools, passwords and codes are the manufacturer's and are used by authorised personnel.

What does the certificate say?

Infant Flow SiPAP Neonatal CPAP System — Model Service (Endorsement), with your name, the hours, the date and your exam score, a unique number and a public verification page.

Can my company buy seats for a team?

Yes: five seats and a progress overview for the manager.
