Euronda E9: display freezes after a cycle, preheat will not start
What happened
After a completed cycle the display went dead; on the next power-up the screen froze and the preheating stage would not continue. As reported in the case, supply voltage did reach the control board, and a transformer on the board was buzzing.
What was checked
- Confirmed that supply voltage actually arrives at the control board, ruling out the cable and inlet.
- With the buzzing transformer pointing to the supply section, checked the electrolytic capacitors on the main control board for loss of capacitance.
- After restoring the board, checked the display itself, which was also found faulty in this case.
Cause
In this case the engineers found that electrolytic capacitors on the main control board had lost capacitance, disrupting the board's operation, and the display unit itself had failed as well.
What was done
The engineers replaced the electrolytic capacitors on the main control board and replaced the display; the sterilizer returned to normal operation, reported as solved in the case.
Safety
Before opening the sterilizer, disconnect it from the mains, let the chamber cool and depressurise, and verify the absence of voltage before board work — electrolytic capacitors can hold a charge after power-off.
Lesson: A frozen display combined with a buzzing board transformer points to a degraded supply section, so check the electrolytic capacitors before condemning the whole control board.
