Euronda E9 Med: heating errors from a burnt ring heater
What happened
The autoclave (version without a separate steam generator) reported errors during the heating phase. The engineers suspected a ring heating element and set out to identify which of the three had failed.
What was checked
- Measured the resistance of the heating elements: reported in the case as 117 Ω with the elements in parallel, about 230 Ω each.
- Looked up the nominal resistance in the manual; for the version with a separate steam generator a value of 28 Ω is stated (reported in the case), which does not match this configuration.
- Removed the rear cover and inspected the three ring heating elements.
Cause
The engineers found that one of the three ring heating elements — the lower one, routed through the thermal insulation — had burned out with an open circuit.
The cause is probable and was not fully confirmed.
What was done
The faulty heating element is to be replaced; the part is available from the official supplier. The swap is planned, and the engineers expect it to clear the heating errors, but the outcome remains probable until the machine is verified after the repair.
Safety
Isolate and lock off the power supply and let the heater and chamber cool down before removing any covers; after the element swap, run electrical safety checks (earth continuity, insulation and leakage) before the sterilizer returns to use.
Lesson: When parallel heaters hide behind one fault, measure each element individually and confirm the manual's reference values match your exact configuration before ordering parts.
