Samsung Medison X300: control panel fault shortly after power-on
What happened
On every start-up the unit ran normally for roughly the first 30 seconds (as reported in the case), then an error appeared affecting the control panel and the image. No error codes were reported.
What was checked
- Cleaned the control panel and its contacts and connectors — the fault came back unchanged.
- Ran the system thoroughly warmed up and watched whether the timing of the fault shifted — it appeared at the same point after boot either way.
Cause
The engineers concluded that the control panel board itself was failing: the fault showed up at a stable time after each start and neither cleaning nor warm-up influenced it, which pointed away from contacts, dust or software.
What was done
The control panel board was replaced. The unit reportedly returned to normal operation with no repeat of the error.
Safety
Before removing the panel covers, disconnect the unit from the mains and let the internal power supplies discharge, and before the scanner goes back into use, complete the full electrical safety check, including protective earth and leakage currents.
Lesson: A fault that appears at the same point after every boot and ignores cleaning and warm-up usually means the board itself is dying — confirm it by substitution instead of chasing contacts.
